All I could tell you is they gquit late night-ish around 2 days ago, I wasn't on when it happened. Doubt it would be a particular person you know, probably just a random keylogger.

Yep, go to the blizzard website and get the ball rolling to have it investigated and hopefully restored to full. Sucks man.

Just as Makayla stated, contact Blizz and fill out the appropriate form.

This happen to me right before I left out of town in August, my gaming laptop died on me.
Be sure to call Blizzard as well, I know you can get the busy tone but keep trying. Once you get a Customer representative be sure to explain everything that happen and they should resolve/restore your account. They restored my account with all the items in couple days.

Take it from a guy who had Zaturn and Aison transfer off Misha, to two different realms with 2 different credit cards. Lost about 17k in gold not to mention all the items worth anything from all my toons on my account.

Edit: Iam now on a new PC that is light years ahead of my previous one. If you're still planing on playing WoW on your current computer, Id suggest to run anti-virus program/s to track down your keylogger or do a reformat of your PC. The threat will still be on your PC if you havent done anything to fix it, when your account is restore.
